rickjames Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hi de hi, Got a Smartboard that despite being able to calibrate OK has issues towards the left side of the board; no touch or anything which seems strange? I can't see any damage to the board and I've cleaned the sensors to no avail. Firmware up to date as well at Notebook. Any pointers? CHEERS EVERYONE
DevilsAdvocate Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 We had to swap out a board yesterday that was reporting an error in the Diagnostic Software for resistance on the X and Y axis. Might be worth checking in that for any issues, I was unaware of it until yesterday. Very useful. SMART Settings > About > Tools > Diagnostics.
rickjames Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Ah, thanks for that, will have a look when the classroom is free. Hardly useful that it's booked all day every week except for breaks, eurgh.
rickjames Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Ran diagnostics which didn't show anything wrong when there evidently is; turns out it's actually the whole board. Can get the odd bit working with your hands if you press super hard but obviously that's obviously no use to me at all. Eurgh.
CHR1S Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 As our boards age they have started to warp and exhibit the same issues. You can try laying it on a flat surface with some weight on it but this only improved it for a short time. Ultimately we replaced them.
jonnykewell1 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Might be worth taking it down, switch the controller for another controller (if you have a board the same elsewhere) and seeing if that works, just rule that out. Edited November 21, 2013 by jonnykewell1
rad Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Go in late at night, swap with the teacher who uses it as an expensive white wall... Problem solved!
rickjames Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 We got this sorted; when through with a full calibration and 24 point orient compared to the 12 which normally turns out OK. Done the trick (for now).
