Kindle / kindle app Help

Hi edugeekers,

 

Our school is looking at getting some kindles for our library and just wondering if any of you have any experience with these and how you are managing them.

 

Also, we have bought an ebook from amazon and our aim was to put it on a laptop for a student to use. Problem being that the student needs to log in to the amazon account (which is linked to the school card) every time they open the kindle app, is there a way round this, as we obviously can't give the student the school's Amazon account details?

 

We have only bought one book, so if anyone has any suggestions to a better e-reader solution I'm all ears

Also wondering if anyone has used Amazon Whisper cast, if it's even available in the uk

We're looking into doing the same thing here, so will be interested to see what solutions others have come up with.

 

Whispercast is currently only available in the US. I did get in touch with the whispercast support team and have pasted their response below:

 

Currently, Whispercast is only available in the U.S.

 

If you live outside the U.S. and are interested in sending Kindle content to multiple devices, we recommend gifting the content. Gifting Kindle content allows you to purchase content and send it to other users. To gift a Kindle book, visit the Amazon.com website and click the Give as a Gift button that is located under the Buy button on the Kindle Store product detail page. You’ll be prompted to enter the recipient’s personal e-mail address, a short message (optional), and choose a delivery date.

I haven't as yet investigated any further with this so look forward to reading how others have approached it
