steves22 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Hi, Some of my AP320's (connected to Meru 3200 controller) are showing Operational State as "Disabled". All the working ones show connectivity layer L2 but the Disabled ones are showing L3. They used to work fine up to a week ago. In the controller, they are all set up as L2 preferred. Any suggestions welcome
steves22 Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 Try a reboot? Makes some sense but at this point I'd be concerned that after a reboot all AP's might become disconnected which would give me a bigger headache.
mhowell Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Steve, Have you raised a support ticket with Meru? Feel free to contact me directly if required [email protected] thx 1
wotnowires Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Steve, Are they showing as Online/Disabled or Offline/Disabled? If showing as Offline/Disabled, then this suggests that there is no communication between the AP and Controller - can you check the LED status of the AP's? Have any changes been made to your network from a VLAN perspective at all? I would recommend that you create an A record in your DNS server of wlan-controller and point it at the IP address of your Meru controller. This will allow the Meru AP's to locate and communicate with their controller across Layer 3 boundaries - assuming that there are no ACL's in the way. Which AP's are you using? 1
steves22 Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 Thanks for the replies. We swapped a couple of APs (AP320's) around but I see now that all 14 AP's (bar one) are now Online and Enabled. Previous state was Online/Disabled but status lights showed normal. Most of the AP's are now showing L2 rather than the L3 that was displayed before. So whilst I am pleased that we are almost completely up and running, I cannot say what the problem was or how to sort it out if it were to reappear.
wotnowires Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 steves22, can you confirm which version of System Director you are running? Paul.
steves22 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Hi Paul, Controller is a MC3200, software version 5.1-75
