IE10 can't load? Only with some pupils on some PCs All using the same settings

IE10 loads but the tab won't expand the cursor flickers rapidly between pointer and hour glass for 10 seconds then IE10 closes? This may not be a proxy error? (as I don't see how a proxy louse would cause ie10 to crash) Any other GPO settings that upset IE10?

 

Pupils with identical permissions, (as they all are) on PCs with the same settings (same OU) some work some do not. IE10?

 

I'm setting the proxy via registry keys using GPP.

What server OS are you on? I push out Proxy Settings using an "Internet Settings" Item.

 

-- User Config > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings >

-- Right-Click > New > Internet Explorer 8 (if 2008R2) or Internet Explorer 10 (if 2012R2)

-- Set all the relevant things like homepage and proxy settings, make sure they all have green lines underneath (press F5 or F6 to turn them from red to green)

-- Exit that, and then within the same GP Management Editor Window, go to User Config > Policies > Windows Settings > Scripts (logon/logoff)

-- Double-click on either Logon or Logoff, then click on "Show Files"

-- In the address bar, click on "User", then "Preferences", then "Internet Settings"

-- Open the XML file in a text editor and located the "Max=X.X.X.X" property.

-- Change this to Max=99.0.0.0 (a high number that will incorporate any updates to IE11 etc)

-- Save and exit. Apply your GPO to whichever users you want to have this proxy
