speckytecky Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I have a student whose saved work is all now coming up associated with Word. He is on a Windows 7 64 bit PC running Office 2010. I can't for the life of me think what could have been globally changed to affect just one student this way?
Michael Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I have a student whose saved work is all now coming up associated with Word. He is on a Windows 7 64 bit PC running Office 2010. I can't for the life of me think what could have been globally changed to affect just one student this way? Possibly some form of malware or a corrupt profile (I'd of thought). I presume you've tried repairing Office if it's a computer problem rather than user. If it is user based, then I'd say their profile is most likely the problem.
Griff Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Had this on the HT's laptop a few weeks ago it was a corrupt user profile as @Michael suggests, deleted the profile from C:\Users and from registry moved any files she needed job done. Let us know how you get on
speckytecky Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the replies so far. User related @witch Further on this. The student reports no issues with other workstations and checking with him he had gone to Sample Pictures on this particular PC and allowed Windows associate programmes via the web. Deleted his local profile and logged him on again now AOK but still a puzzle. No Thanks button visible on this thread? Edited October 15, 2013 by speckytecky
