In all honesty for the money offered it's quite a demanding role, I expected the cap to be around £30,000 or a tad more.

 

Decent enough job though.

Same sort of role here with same scale. And thats only after I went up two after asking for an evaluation by the council.

30K ????? I wish!!!!! SO2/SO1 around here is about 21 - 27K.

Sounds like most people are on comparible wages to my own, just saying that I know people doing a similar job to that who earn £30,000-£35,000.

 

Dan -if you know the school then that makes a huge difference, go for it. For someone else looking at that job title I'd be slightly put off by the number of requests compared to the salary. Not saying I couldn't do it - I simply get paid more for doing less as it is, although granted I have more responsibilities than the advertised job.

When will education realise that if they need to recruit people with these kind of skill sets then they are going to have to pay the going rate which is well above what they are offering at the moment.

 

They may on the other hand have enquiries from migrant workers with these skill sets which may be what they are trying to do. This would overall force skill set labour costs down quite dramatically just as it has done across other professional skill sets (Doctors for an example).

The Job Description has management attributes - financial planning, procurement, people management (training needs etc), policy planning etc but it seems to be graded as a senior technical scale. IMO this should be M1/M2, take out the management bits and it would be fine. Has it been assessed by an equality proofed pay and grading scheme ?

Bah, I do the planning, management and implmentation of all that stuff here. I'm so busy. I wrote my urgent to do list on my whiteboard but stopped as I was getting depressed after adding 60+ items
