Has anybody done the Becta surevy yet?

Apparantly the 3rd party (Atkins) is coming in next week to do this stoopid survey and I wondered if anybody knew what was going to be asked. The almost-head of IT seems to think that he will be neeeded and wants to book time off-timetable. Is this necessary?

As far I know they just want "the IT Technician". I was thinking of getting Stephen and his team to draw lots :-)

 

I am being done next Friday. I was told that they would send me a copy of the survey first and from that I can decide of I need anyone else.

 

I think SpuffMonkey has been done, I'll give him a ping.

on serious note what hapens if like us we are doing lot of our documnetation after coming into a school with none.

IIRC OFSTED no longer look at the specific infrastructure or configuration of your systems unless it is something that has a direct relationship to a strand of the school SEF they are following.

 

It is presumed that the technology just works and they want to see what people do with what they have.

 

This information is really to see what is in schools, what they do with it, trying to work out why they chose to set things up a certain way and to see whether the Becta specifications are known, being followed and / or actually work outside of the Test Bed thingy.
