PeggleStar Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I have every Pokemon game on PC emulators except X and Y, I really want to play X and Y but cannot justify spending £170 - £200 just to play 2 games it's alot.

If you're not prepared to pay for it, don't play it. Things like this are one of the reasons game companies are adding more and more resttictions.

I have no problem paying for the games if I could play them on the PC infact i'd buy both X and Y but if I got a DS these are the only games I would play.
CAM Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 But wouldn't emulation cut out the Global Link, trade and online functions? Online is optional but features quite heavily in XY, like online battles and sending buffs and messages to players who are in the same area as you. I sent catch rate bonuses to random people from Japan and South Korea yesterday.
Grey-gear Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 So any one else got\seen a shiny yet?
X-13 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 So any one else got\seen a shiny yet? From what I've been hearing they may be a lot more common.
AlfaTech Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) But wouldn't emulation cut out the Global Link, trade and online functions? I've got My Boy! Free an Android Gameboy emulator which I play Pokémon Fire Red on that has link capabilities over Bluetooth. But yeah an emulated DS PKMN game would be without the online functions. X-13 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 PMs sent. I can't add anyone at the moment. My 3ds is completely dead.
AlfaTech Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 A head's up to those PKMN X/Y gamers out there, if you're in Luminose City don't save!!! There's a bit of a game-breaking bug... Game Breaking Pokémon X & Y Bug Affecting Some Gamers in Europe and Japan - 3DS News @ Nintendo Life Nart gud!!!
Grey-gear Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Ok thanks for the tip, did you get hit with it?

And on the flip side... serebii is saying you can get the second form of the starters in the friend safari. With their hidden ability and 2 31 IVs.
AlfaTech Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) I'm kinda avoiding Serebii and all other PKMN websites at the moment to avoid spoilers... but yeah, that is great news! This game it just too darn addictive I keep having to make important decisions like; 'do I go to bed tonight', 'am I feeling well enough to go to work today', etc. LOL I probably shouldn't admit it but I did get 'sacked' for playing the original Pokémon Red on my Gameboy too much when I was 18 they thought I was taking very long toilet breaks. (OK not sacked, but they didn't renew my contact) Eh hem, moving on... Edited October 17, 2013 by AlfaTech
AlfaTech Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Ok thanks for the tip, did you get hit with it? Nope. But I know people who have. Not sure if it is limited to the retail version though (I've got the digital download). Theres a rather amusing YouTube about this Pokémon Y Bug with a fella swearing a lot and then taking a hammer to the game case. However, being a techie I have discovered that there is a work-around with involves 'mashing' (technical term) the home buttonwhile it loads. PSA - How to fix your frozen Pokemon X/Y : pokemon Lets hope that Ninty roll out a fix in the next System Update PDQ to save from too many mashed up home buttons.
AlfaTech Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Petition, please sign and share with other Ninty gamers. Thank $diety I haven't been hit with it.
CAM Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I reached Lumiose City last night, the PR videos are a fun addition and an excuse to make something really big-headed and cheesy. Fennekin also evolved into Braixen and looks quite cool, it keeps a stick in it's tail that it uses like a magic wand before spinning it and putting it back. Anyone know what the Poke-Amie is for BTW?
Garacesh Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I picked the froggy starter (water one) but my friend picked the fire one. He hates the 3rd form of it. Says he's going to breed another to keep it permanently in the 2nd stage xD

Says he's going to breed another to keep it permanently in the 2nd stage xD The fire starter [twisted fire starter...] actually looks cool. But Ninja frog > everything. [Except MagaCharizard] Le "I'm totally not playing pokemon now" EDIT: NOOO MY HAT MONEY! [x2 risky combo] I swear this game was made by Valve... so many hats. Edited October 18, 2013 by X-13
Grey-gear Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Anyone know what the Poke-Amie is for BTW? Not sure I was thinking that depending on how much the pokemon likes you in Poke-Amie depends if NPC will give you items. I'm most likeily wrong though. Edited October 18, 2013 by Grey-gear Because I can not spell to save my life
X-13 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Not sure I was thinking that depending on how much the pokemon likes you in Poke-Amie depends if NPC will give you items. I'm most likeily wrong though. It evolves sylveon. And a high affection gets you some special battle interactions and makes crits a lot more likely. And some other stuff. Pretty useful tbh.
CAM Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 But humanoid shaped Pokémon make it a bit creepy and awkward... Mr Mime wants a rub.
AlfaTech Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Anyone know what the Poke-Amie is for BTW? For lovin' up your 'mon and making them more friendly I think. There is supposed to be some advantage in this as it allegedly increases critical hits AFAIK (but don't quote me on that). And yeah the froggy starter (Froakie) final evolution (Greninja) is definitely the toads testies! Water/Dark is such an awesome combination. I'm not getting on so well with my Mega Charizard X though, think I might have to swap my Charizardite X for some Charizardite Y with someone at some point. Edited October 18, 2013 by AlfaTech
X-13 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) But humanoid shaped Pokémon make it a bit creepy and awkward... Mr Mime wants a rub. You can give them a high-5 if you hold the stylus on the screen for a bit. Le EDIT: Awww yeah! Female combee! Now... do I try to find a male and female Ralts? Le EDIT2: MALE RALTS AQUIRED! now to find a female one... Edited October 18, 2013 by X-13
X-13 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Anyone have the digital version and would be willing to engage in some shenanigans? Shenanigans: backup the game, restart, take different starters, give me them.
