Hey Guys

I have group policy that locksdown all users and gives them a mapped drive to shared areas such as staff and pupil share. I also have AD that connects H: drive to \\10.157.4.4\shd\%USERNAME% I'm a bit confused as out of all the Windows 7 computer there is one Admin PC that seems to be applying group policy and everything work just not her H: drive it's not there?!

It does this with other accounts also so it's not this particular users accounts. She can log on else where and her H: drive is there no problem??

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the domain and it's still not working! Can anyone help me shes admin and needs to save stuff but cant on that machine. I also can't replace the machine!!

Anyone Know Why? :(

I can Map the drive manually no problems but the issue is they don't have right to map drives on their users so I can't do this for her. Though if I Go to the administrator user I can map drives. I have tried disabling offline files an restarted still nothing will work :(

Any reason why you're mapping with an IP and not the servername? If other PCs aren't processing GPOs, it sounds like a DNS issue to me. If DNS stops working or is broken, it does create problems.

Thanks for all your help guys!!! Unfortunately tried all the methods above and its still not working. DNS is fine have tried using server name and everything stays the same. It's just so weird that its this one machine and all the other work fine :/ any other suggestions would be most appreciated!! :)

Good that you've worked out what was blocking the mapping on that machine.

You should still investigate why you have been using ip addresses rather than fqdn's.

IP addresses force authentication back to NTLMv2 which is less secure, slower and more demanding on the servers CPUs.

By using FQDN Windows will make use of Kerberos Tickets which is more secure and less demanding on servers CPUs.
