mrbios Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 What do you guys use? Would you recommend it or steer clear of it? We have an old exterity IPTV system at the moment but it's quite old now and the picture quality is pretty poor. Could do with looking to modernise it i think.
plexer Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Can you calrify what you wish to do with or what it used to do? Lots of people now using solutions like planet stream and clickview. Ben
mrbios Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Can you calrify what you wish to do with or what it used to do? At the moment it's used for streaming what is essentially a skysports style layout with a stream of powerpoints/videos/general information etc in the main frame (we use The world's most popular FREE Digital Signage platform to setup what is shown on the TVs) Problem is we have all sorts of issues with this one in that the image sometimes doesn't lineup properly on the screens, it's stupidly hard to get it lineup properly, the image quality isn't brilliant, often making text hard to read etc. Everything seems to want to be 4:3 even when set to 16:9 too. Something that supports HD might be beneficial (if the price isn't crazy) We're basically making a wish list for next year at the moment of things we'd like to improve, not nessecarily dead set on replacing it unless we find something with significant improvement. 1
john Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Sounds like your looking for Digital Signage by that description, plenty of threads on here about it
JimmyTown Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 planet eStream is used at our place, they added digital signage to the solution so we went with them. We have set it up to broadcast BBC news to our displays. Plus a music channel to the 6th form common room. Def recommend a look.
