Server 2008 R2 Group policy - hiding Documents folder

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We have Server 2008 R2 with windows 7 clients.

Every user has their own mapped home drive through AD. e.g. H

At the moment that is in sync with their documents folder, I want to hide the documents folder so the only place they will have available to save to is H Drive.

Any advice?

I did have this setup......

but in \\server1\user.data where the users home directories are stored.

It has created a load of My Documents folders ?

with windows 7 they will show as my docs but they are fred\jane etc

to stop this redirect to \\server\share$\username\documents

\\server\share$\username\pics

\\server\share$\username\favorites . . .

win7 creates a file desktop.ini that makes folders look like they are called my docs but its just a trick they are still called what they are called (theres lots of threads on here about it)

Thanks,

I saw this comment from Michael "Navigate to the folder where your home directories are located. Right click in the column 'Size' > 'More...'"

I cannot see how to change this?
