Active Inspire by mistake!

I think I know the answer to this one before I even ask the question!

Called into a school yesterday, they have been happily using Activprimary for ages. One of the teachers has managed to update to Active Inspire (apparently it just "happened") Is it possible to go back to Activprimary? The school used the Activiprimary download off the website originally but that is now longer available.

Hi Smee,

ActivInspire is actually a completely different programme to ActivPrimary. There was a period of time where users of ActivPrimary could download and install ActivInspire Professional Edition for free. ActivPrimary (if it hasn't been uninstalled from the machine) can be installed "side by side" with ActivInspire, so isn't an upgrade in the true sense that ActivPRimary will be removed and ActivInspire installed in it's place.

ActivPrimary has not been availble to download for around 2 years now, and Promethean do not support ActivPrimary anymore.

 

ActivInspire can be made to look like ActivPrimary if the teacher is struggling with the layout and look and feel? (When ActivInspire first opens there is a dashboard, click on the "Configure" option, and at the bottom of the window there is a small tick box that will state "Launch next time in the Primary look and feel". (as per the photograph attached.)

thanks @phillyrovers I have no idea what they've done with the original install of Activprimary it's definatly not on their pc anymore but will let them know how to get the special primary feel back on the IWB ;p

In the same way that 2 tubs of Oreo ice cream just "happened" to end up in my trolley at Morrison's, I suspect.
