jockmazza Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Over the 18 months that I have been supporting the IWB systems in 30 or so Schools, I am seeing more issues with both PRM-30 and PRM-35 projectors. The issue is always this: The projectors are using the original lamp and the lamp hours are anywhere from 500 to 1300 hours. The lamp is not always the issue. Promethean replaced a PRM-30 when I successfully proved a dirty old prm-30 with around 1400 hours was showing a nice crisp image. Now Promethean are refusing to do anything under warranty. For a new projector and lamp to only last around 1000 hours with a good image is not acceptable and clearly not giving a good impression of their kit. Is anyone else having issues like this - 1st lamp/projector goes dim too quick. John Masterton AV Tech
phillyrovers Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Hi jockmazza, Have you logged these issues and concerns through Promethean's Technical Support? I know that total lamp failures (the lamp does not strike) would be covered under the lamp warranty provided with the projector (which is normally 3 years or 3000 hours whichever comes first. In regards to dim images and in some cases premature lamp failure I have found the following KB articles which could be of some use to you: PrometheanKB Article Id's: 10757, 10343, 10870, 10818, 10869 I would recommend you contact Promethean Support however and discuss this with them in further detail. Please ensure that you have serial numbers, lamp hours, and filter hours for any applicable projector you wish to discuss. Thank you
