  1. Hi fellow AV Geeks. I'm about to recommend that around 100 projectors are repaced with filtered and NOT filterless LCD projectors. The disruption to classes and cost of cleaning countless filterless systems with compressed air cans is prohibitive. I'd rather spend 30 seconds hoovering out a filter on a trusted system and so removing the dust/dirt out of the classroom than splattering dust onto desks and the floor and disrupting classes too. The XE40 / PRM and a few other Sanyos are notorious for having filtered systems that perhaps did not work too well in warm/dusty/dirty environments. Do any of you have any suggestions for an up-to-date short throw projector to replace XE40s/PRM-10s? Thanks in advance! J
  2. Over the 18 months that I have been supporting the IWB systems in 30 or so Schools, I am seeing more issues with both PRM-30 and PRM-35 projectors. The issue is always this: The projectors are using the original lamp and the lamp hours are anywhere from 500 to 1300 hours. The lamp is not always the issue. Promethean replaced a PRM-30 when I successfully proved a dirty old prm-30 with around 1400 hours was showing a nice crisp image. Now Promethean are refusing to do anything under warranty. For a new projector and lamp to only last around 1000 hours with a good image is not acceptable and clearly not giving a good impression of their kit. Is anyone else having issues like this - 1st lamp/projector goes dim too quick. John Masterton AV Tech
  3. I am having a similar problem to issues mentioned by other posters with the XW200 projector. It powers on with light coming out for a couple of seconds then dies with the warning light lit red. The lamp is not the issue, as I have swapped lamps with another example of the same model. The lamp works fine. I've stripped the projector to try to find any thermal reset and I've also emailed Sanyo support - no response except to say that there is no response in the short term due to the nature of my enquiry.. etc etc.. Please advise with any help or suggestions.
  4. Thanks for the info. I will store it away in my shell like. in the end a firmware upgrade fixed the issue. I always think it's funny how smartboards and promethean boards work fine then just throw the toys out the pram and need driver and/or firmware updates. John
  5. Thanks Mr Librarian. I may have made that mistake. I'm new to these boards. I'm aware that some boards have marks to guide you where to align the projector image. I will check this when I go back on site. I know I was tired and a bit hassled by the kit being messed up by a previous user, so I may have missed this!! Thanks!
  6. I have a promethean baord connected to a MAC and when I calibrate it, the area at the top left where you make the first click on the first crosshair needs quite a hard tap to get the calibration software to go to the next crosshair. I've upgraded drivers but not firmare as I did not have the firmware upgrade to hand when I visited the site. Any help would be gratefully received.
