ieuanprice Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 We've had a new member of staff join us this September and he asked where the Reading ages and Learning styles column from lesson monitor was when he logged into his register. No one at our school knew it was possible to have this information visible and i cant find any documentation saying how i might add it. Is there anyone who can a) confirm it is possible b) help me out with something on where i can find the setup or how i add it Thanks
Linfit Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Reading ages and learning styles would likely be stored as aspects in SIMS so I can't see a way of making them visible on the main register screen. Is it possible that he has been at a school where those details were on a linked marksheet accessed from the marksheets tab on the register screen, and thats where the confusion has arisen ?
CAM Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 The fields do not appear in the list of extra columns when you right click on the name header in Lesson Monitor so I don't believe it is possible to add them. They also don't ring a bell in AM7's additional columns either.
HughR Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 We have had this information in our SIMS before. Learning Style - which contains information such as 'Kinaesthetic', 'Visual', 'Auditory' - A previous Data Manager input the information - I've never managed to locate where the information comes from, but it appears to have been loaded in from a spreadsheet. 'Reading Age' is one I need to Add (which is how I found this thread, as I'm not sure where that information comes from either. I don't think it's possible to put this into Lesson Monitor (not sure why you would to be honest) but this normally appears in Assessment Marksheets (and/or Pupil Trackers). If I find out, I'll post it here (In the meanwhile, if you have found out yet please would you let me know!!)
ieuanprice Posted September 13, 2013 Author Posted September 13, 2013 Thanks for your replies - we've got the information on our system - in a mark sheet but he seems certain it was in Lesson Monitor - just as SEN info appears etc. How strange no one else knows about it.......
vikpaw Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 We have reading ages in a marksheet. We put in some test results and then a lookup table works out reading ages, and standardised scores. It only ever appears on marksheets though.
PhilNeal Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 It could be that they created a Discover Group - these are available on marksheets.
pipsytip Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I don't think it is possible in LM - as someone says above. I've been tasked with the same thing at my school and what I am planning to do is create aspects in Assessment input the data and then use the Learning style aspects as a data review column in marksheets.
