[android] Android podcast downloader app?

Im getting a bit bored of downloading podcasts, and then transferring them to my phone.

 

Seems there is loads of apps available but which one would be recommended to download podcasts automatically for me so they are ready for the journey to work in the morning?

PocketCasts is the by far best podcast app I have tried so far.

I use Dogcatcher. Pretty darn good. Does everything I need, always you to download to your phone, or even stream it.

Can configure it to download on a schedule, and keep the last n episodes etc.

I use podcast addict which does the trick for me. Its free. (with fairly unintrusive ads)

No, but it's easy enough to get a refund either directly from Google or the developer (depending upon how long you have had the app installed)...

DoggCatcher is not as nice as Pocket Casts IMO. I've tried both.

the free version of doggcatcher has been doing everything i really need, even after the trial has expired.

The only problem I am finding with Doggcatcher, is once i unplug the audio jack, it continues playing the podcast. I use my phone in the car with the headphone jack, and once i finish my journey it would be good if the playback stopped when the jack was unplugged.

 

For example, the TuneIn app, once you unplug the headphone jack, it will automatically halt playback.

 

Is there a setting ive missed in doggcatcher (free) to enable this functionality or should I upgrade to the paid ver.

I switched to Onecast when Google reader/listen was killed off and it works for me. It stops when you remove the jack.
