VeryPC Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Al...its not a reflection on you, or your company, was meant as a joke Yeah I know - no offence taken of course
X-13 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Al...its not a reflection on you, or your company, was meant as a joke Joke or not, it's something that actually happens. Near me is a park-ish area. I can't remember what it's called... but the acronym is something like DANGER. Not a place you want your kids going.
hardtailstar Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Nice one. Bonus entry locked! Thanks, Al wooooooooooo

VeryPC Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Second [bad] suggestion. The royal institute of inclusive learning. Because they're VERY PC... I feel that wasn't worth the effort. Always worth the effort - @X-13 is the first user to have 2 suggestions on the list. Thank you. No further bonus entry of course, but a slightly better chance of having one of his suggestions selected. Good luck to all of you intrepid school namers! Al Edited August 16, 2013 by VeryPC

School motto: The 3 laws are just a suggestion. 4th... The Zoidberg academy. Because why not Zoidberg. No further bonus entry of course, but a slightly better chance of having one of his suggestions selected. > implying my idiocy will be rewarded. Entry 5... The Firefly college of advanced geekery and nerditude. Edited August 16, 2013 by X-13

VeryPC Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Morning Edugeekle Hope you all had a nice weekend - today's "lost property item" (prize) will be allocated between 11 am and 12 noon today. I will also take the opportunity to reveal which prize is hiding behind number 8, as chosen by our previous winner @witch over the weekend. ...AND I will also tell you the brand new name of our glorious school, awarding an additional bonus entry to the author of the name in the process. Good luck to all! Doctor E Brown
VeryPC Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Sit down sit down. School assembly begins now and we have some very important announcements... Congratulations winner - choose your number from the below and we'll reveal your prize in a bit. Also note that @witch has won the tiny bee screen cleaner as revealed in the above video. There are still plenty of prizes left, so UK based IT manager/techies drop me a PM with your professional contact details and we'll add you to the draw. Al 1
X-13 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 THE WIN HAS BEEN DOUBLED! Number 4, please. (Unless it's not GTA... then i want to change my number) 1
X-13 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Even if it's the nano sketch? That's a different draw.
VeryPC Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Number 4, please. (Unless it's not GTA... then i want to change my number) Number 4 it is (no swapsies, I'm afraid). @X-13 you are now the proud owner of... [this bit where I pretend to build the anticipation] ... a heat reactive Manic Miner mug! I think the level appears when you put a hot drink in it and disappears as you drink. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. Enjoy! And thanks to you for the winning suggestion of school name, a deserving winner. Everyone else, good luck for tomorrow, and to anyone not already registered, there are loads of fun prizes left to win. UK IT techs and managers PM me your professional contact details to be in with a chance. Remember we have a star prize of a tasty VeryPC Nano Sketch with SSD and your own custom branding to be given away on Friday August 30th. Al 1
X-13 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Bah... i have too many mugs. Collusion without a bit of luck is pointless. Al, have i got 3 entries in the nano draw or just this one?
VeryPC Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Bah... i have too many mugs. Collusion without a bit of luck is pointless. Al, have i got 3 entries in the nano draw or just this one? Quick answer: 3 Winning tickets from the daily draws go back into the bucket before we draw for the star prize, so you'll have 3 entries at that stage, and the others who suggested a school name will have 2 entries,. The above is as counted at this point in proceedings - there may be another opportunity to earn a bonus entry before we get to the conclusion, but I am still capping maximum entries at 3 total. So future contribution exercises would just be for fun on your part @X-13 as you already have the max 3. Al

X-13 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Is the "thread basement" like the "bowels of the internet"?
VeryPC Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Is the "thread basement" like the "bowels of the internet"? For some reason, I'm highly amused by the thought that our 3D world is being represented in a 2D video on the plane of a computer display with things above, below and to the sides of us on that plane. I love pointing down out of frame at things further down the thread. It really tickles me. Of course it breaks if we're in full screen mode - then we'd just be pointing at your keyboard or something. It doesn't take much to keep me happy. Al
