Came in this morning to find an e-mail about how as we are a corporate MS customer, we can buy a copy of Office 2013 pro for £8.95 for home use. Don't mind if I do!

Is that part of the home use thingy program? Or a full real edition?

The e-mail says it's part of the Microsoft Home Use Program. Includes one copy of Microsoft 2013 Professional Plus (or Office 2011 for Mac).

It's a full copy, but is only license only allows you to use it whilst you are employed by that organisation, but for £8.95 who cares:p

Quell surprise, NHS negotiate something and it costs nearly twice as much as what everyone else gets it for:p

I get all Microsoft products free through work because we are a Microsoft Gold Partner.

We've been using this process for a while now as I think it started with Office 2010. Members of staff use to be able to install office at home free from our volume license campus agreement. I think this might have lead to extra copies being made for friends and family etc and maybe some got into the hands of pirates. This way MS make a bit of extra cash and the install will only work on one PC due to the individual serial number with each one. Not so good for the friends and family and the pirates though.
