tmcd35 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 There seems to be absolutely no challenge (so far at least, I suppose it could just be an insanely easy first mission...) I remember escaping from the prision and then racing across the island with more cops on my tail than employed by the entire metropolitan police. I ran off into the forest and proceeded to get totally lost finding my way back to home base. That's where I left it as far as I remember. Like you, if JC2's is a good as everyone says it is, I've just got to play through JC1 one first.
Yeo695 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 So I set out with plans to only spend $30 on the summer sale... With plans to only buy 3 games/dlc... I spent $121.11 on 13 games/dlc... It's only day 3.
featured_spectre Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Spent exactly what I said I would. Skyrim add ons, complete set £8.

featured_spectre Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 If I had more money, then I would have bought a LOT more.
sonofsanta Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I haven't bought anything yet. Although this is only because I have bought every desirable game in past Steam sales, and any games that have come out since my last binge aren't yet reduced to that £2.49/£3.74 price point. No point in paying £7.49 for Tomb Raider when I'll not get round to playing it for another year anyway
LiamH Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Dishonored (was thinking of buying the thief boxset t'other day) + DLC Primal Carnage Borderlands 2 .. So far, damn you steam sales, i'm meant to be saving up.

Vasriel Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm trying so hard to resist buying anything at the moment. Got games I got in the Christmas sale I've still to play and just don't have the time
LosOjos Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Just out of curiosity - @Arcath did you realise you were buying a trading card from me this morning or was it sheer chance? I got overly excited that I recognised your name and avatar when you bought it lol
Cush2790 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Purchased: Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition £3, Terraria £1 and Max Payne Collection £11 so far!
Rawns Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Purchased: Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition £3, Terraria £1 and Max Payne Collection £11 so far! Terraria is an AWESOME game! And it's got a big PC update due out soon!!!
LosOjos Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Terraria is an AWESOME game! And it's got a big PC update due out soon!!! I bought Terraria some time back but have hardly played it because I just don't get it - what are you supposed to do? I got the impression it was just 2D Minecraft... so I went and played Minecraft instead
LosOjos Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm chuffed as I've been meaning to play Crisis for an age now and just picked up for £12: Crysis Warhead Wars Crysis 2 By the time I've got through that little lot I should be able to pick up Crysis 3 for a couple of quid!
Garacesh Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I bought Terraria some time back but have hardly played it because I just don't get it - what are you supposed to do? I got the impression it was just 2D Minecraft... so I went and played Minecraft instead It's similar, but it has more content. Armour, weapons, items, bosses, blood moons, etc. It's rather challenging if you get stuck into it with a bunch of friends! inb4 Edugeek Terraria Server... I've picked up New Vegas, Borderlands 2 and Kerbal Space Program so far. Some of the awesome games like Castle Crashers, Amnesia and Terraria I already own. I doubt I'll buy much more this summer, personally.
CAM Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Terraria and Minecraft are similar, but two completely different games. Minecraft ahs more focus on building, Terraria more focus on fighting bosses and nasty creatures with all manner of strange items. I used to love doing engineering and made stuff ranging from Christmas lights to a button that spawns a bunny that jumps on a pressure plate and in turn fires a volley of arrows into it...

I built a big castle once and set up a water pump with a 1 second switch on top of it and turned it on to make a waterfall. I then wondered off to explore some more and when I got back, half of the world was flooded!!! Luckily, I had a 'hellevator' so made a tunnel between it and the new 'water world' to drain most of it off. Hell got a bit wet that day!!! Edugeek server would be awesome. Saying that, I have ran a server on my media centre so could easily set one up.
LosOjos Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Hmmm sounds like I need to give Terraria more time, it just felt like a total Minecraft rip off but admittedly I didn't do much exploration - like I said, I went and played Minecraft instead!

Do, it's a really great game when you get going! It's fun with more people too. If you decide to give it another go, shout and I'll join you. I have a TS server so can talk you through the basics. (Rawns on steam in case you want to add me, I'm also in the Edugeek group) Also, Terraria came out 6 months before Minecraft! Edited July 17, 2013 by Rawns
LosOjos Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) Also, Terraria came out 6 months before Minecraft! Really?! That surprises me, Minecraft has been around for bloody ages! (well, it was Beta for what seemed like years...) EDIT: Sorry @Rawns but Minecraft was first! Released on PC in 2009 (as Alpha) whereas Terraria wasn't released until 2011. I knew I remembered playing Minecraft ages ago (you had to play it inside a browser originally) Edited July 17, 2013 by LosOjos
Garacesh Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I'd definitely be up for a Terraria server! I've kind of fell out-of-love with Minecraft at the moment (as many people will know from not seeing me around)

Also used to be hell was made EZ-mode by pumping water down where it makes contact with lava and becomes obsidian (that was patched). I did make an obsidian generator before using two buckets and the liquid multiplier bug, check my Terraria screenshots to see it.

I knew I remembered playing Minecraft ages ago (you had to play it inside a browser originally) Ahhh, my bad. I looked on Wikipedia on the right side at release dates (which I assume are the "official" release dates) and did not see the bit at the top saying publicly released May 2009 as a development alpha build. Either way, Terraria is an awesome game and the rewards from playing it are great if you put a little time in. I'd definitely be up for a Terraria server! I'd be up for joining in. . Maybe I'll look at getting it back up and running tonight then and post details. I usually leave my media centre PC running 24/7 so people can come and go as they please.
