techie08 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Is it just SIMS, FMS and Discover that are migrated or does SOLUS3 and Intouch (if its part of SQL??) need to be done too?
gresso Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Is it just SIMS, FMS and Discover that are migrated or does SOLUS3 and Intouch (if its part of SQL??) need to be done too? I would say InTouch is web service pointing to instance (so its not part of SQL), however after migration probably instance name will change so it will have to be reconfigured. I don't remember SOLUS3 setup as I try to say away from it as long as possible, so I did not have to do anything with it as was not present in first place for this migration. tgayton Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi, Does anyone know any good SQL or SAS training? Thanks
Joanne Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Just want to revive this thread... I've just downloaded tools and the setup guide. It all looks straightforward. I've been told by a local tech that it all went smoothly for him. Has anyone run this tool on their servers? It looks easy.
Boredguy Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 We did the SQL 2014 migration and apart from the FMS database being held open by another task, it all went smoothly (but we did setup SQL Standard first) Just remember that you have to manually transfer the Solus3 database if you use it, but the instructions are in the S3 documentation and is reasonably straight foreword.
Joanne Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm in a 2 form intake primary. Don't think that we use SOLUS 3... I've done the odd upgrade myself in the past 12 months... Thing is, I think the LA are going to be charging around £1000 to do this upgrade and if I can save that money, then I probably should!!
Boredguy Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 The cost for Capita to do our migration would have been around the £400 mark based on previous updates so we decided to do it ourselves and other than spending a day at Christmas backing up our VM just in case it went wrong, the migration tool worked fine. Just follow the instructions they provided and you should be able to save yourselves that £1000. Make sure you have at least a morning put aside for it, although it might only take an hour or two. 1
Joanne Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks. I've let them know I'm willing to do it, if SLT decide to get the LA support in to do it then I guess that is their decision!

I can't find it on the new(ish) MyAccount site anywhere. Thanks
vikpaw Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Hi, Where did you download the Migration tool from? I can't find it on the new(ish) MyAccount site anywhere. Thanks Can you find the 2014 tools? It's a similar link It's listed in a downloads document. Search for "SIMS Release Download Links" then it's a document (word) on the lower right side. This has links to downloads. 1
skunk Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Can you find the 2014 tools? It's a similar link Facepalm, should have guessed really.

Thanks vikpaw, but I just get "No document results were found for "RESOURCEID-1-2236"." when I follow the download links in the release notification. I see from another thread that I'm not the only one however so guessing there may be an issue with MyAccount. Was going to raise a support incident with Capita for this as suggested in the other thread.
superfletch Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Thanks vikpaw, but I just get "No document results were found for "RESOURCEID-1-2236"." when I follow the download links in the release notification. When I got this it confused me, but the link was actually on that page towards the bottom right.
ass17 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Just done my SQL 2014 today with no redirection. Pretty smooth but a few things happened. The Intouch key was wiped out in SIMS so called support for a new one. And migration screwed up SSM from loading re-install did the trick and re download packages. Also moved SOLUS3 and changed configs manually to new instance, everything is now running smoothly so far!
