Does anyone have information on the legalities of online reporting to parents?

Since Becta has gone and the all the who rah entailed with it, can anyone point me in the direction of the current requirements.

I believe this was just dropped, totaly. There are no requirements and no real recommendations any longer.

My understanding also. Don't think you'll find any guidance, it simply disappeared (thank $deity we all bought those expensive VLE's huh?)

It was never a legal requirement just an expectation. Most heads would agree that parental engagement is an essential component of any successful school and it's hard to argue that information should not be available to parents on-line. Ofsted will bring their own view in on how well the school is doing on the area of parental involvement as they will ask parents to comment on their web site. A good communications strategy will help schools argue against any negative comments that are made by parents on Ofsted's site.
