Sb680 pen tray disco mode active

Hello all,

 

Just a quick question to see if anyone has any tips/tricks to help me correct a pen tray that thinks its a disco light. When someone is typing in smart notebook the pen tray will seemingly at random decide that the red pen has been picked up and then put down so it flashes on and off. This of course causes the smart notebook app to start a new text box making it appear that the user is typing over the top of previously entered text over and over.

 

The unit is out of warranty so Im looking for alternate fixes short of just covering up and not using the red pen sensor.

 

Has anyone played about with the guts of these trays / know of any fixes?

New trays are easy enough to get hold of and solved my issue, I picked one up for I think it was about £60 off the net when I needed one once (was a credit card purchase jobby from a dubious site but the part was fine!) so maybe more but you can get them as a spare part and its the entire tray.

Thanks, I think its gonna have to be a replacement purchase as you suggest.

Have you given it a good clean with some sort of proprietory cleaner? We had one misbehaving and getting rid of all the dust and carp sorted it out. Might work
