sloughman Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Hello, my problem is getting Apple TV to work in order to mirror ipads. I have connected the Apple TV (wired) but I believe the firewall is blocking things as Airplay icon not showing on Ipad where it should do . Does anybody have advice on what ports to unblock, a trawl through the net seem to bring out differing responses. Thanks in advance.
midweek Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Perhaps stating the obvious but do you have the Apple TV and the Ipad on the same SSID?
TLARWise Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I had a similar problem once. Turns out I had accidentally turned off the airplay option when messing around in the Apple TV's settings. May be worth double checking.
Mark182 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Please make sure you do not have NAT or IP Nat Inside or Source NAT on any of those VLANs. Bonjour does not work with NAT

speckytecky Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 We bought three Apple TVs with the extra kit to connect them to Smartboards (HDMI / VGA converters and various leads). So all told best part of £600 invested plus a lot of faffing about and time only to give up as they just failed on our Domain with reliable connection issues. Gave up and became a convert to AirServer - Most advanced AirPlay receiver for Mac and PC after reading the glowing comments about it on Edugeek. So now for a one off payment of something like £60 all our kit to Smartboards have Airserver and it does the job - just easy and perfect. No idea what to do with the three sets of Apple TV now though 1
