Remove web page adverts

I'm sure they didnt used to be there but I have words in posts highlighted with with hyperlinks that when hovered over show a windowed advert (ads by Powerlink), can I get rid of these as they are irritating me! I've downloaded something I presume as I'm sure Edugeek didnt have any before or is it I have just not noticed theme before?

I had something similar last week on an old machine that I don’t use much, and had not been patched. So I don’t know if it was a virus, or something that snuck in on an installer.

In any case go to your uninstall programs and sort by date. You should find the culprit then.

will run a scan and see what turns up, nothing in uninstall progs though.

Check in another browser. If only present in one, disable all add-on. Restart PC in safe mode.

 

As long as the site is not pushing them, one of the three should fix it, and then you can work backwards from there.
