I'm trying to learn about SCCM for imaging and am not getting my head around some of the concepts.

So, how do I go about doing the following:

Deploy a base image (ie. fresh install), make changes such as change OOBE backgrounds etc..., install any *giant* packages that I don't want to deploy as applications, and then once happy, capture it and then use that as the base for a task sequence which can have various things done (apply updates, deploy applications etc...)?

Windows-Noob is good but it doesn't really clarify that sort of thing.

In the TS you can install the application. The app must be able to install scripted and not require internet access. As for the oobe you need to make a script that copies the folder. The source oobe folder must be somewhere the network access account has read access.
