We are moving to SIMS at the moment ready for a September launch. At the moment we use Facility/Cmis and teachers record lesson 'scores' for each lesson. E.g. a 6 for on time to lesson, all work completed. 5 for being late to lesson etc.

At the end of the day Form tutors can then track the lesson scores of pupils and give detentions to pupils with dropped lesson scores.

Is this system possible in SIMS? Is it possible to change the mark that teachers would enter for each lesson to a number.

Any ideas if this is possible and how to implement it?

One other idea is that it's possible to define behaviour types. It's really fast to assign behaviour types against pupils by right clicking multiple pupils and bulk assigning.

You can give achievement and behaviour points and assign varying values to them, so a fight in the classroom might be 10 behaviour points whilst forgetting to do homework can be set to just 1 point to reflect the severity of an incident. Same with achievement points.

Thanks for your replies. I like the idea of different behaviour types and achievements. We also use Vivo rewards, which will automatically award them Vivo points for different achievement types.

To do what Phil suggested, when you define the behaviour types, tick the option to make them available in the class register, so then entry of them is really simple (right click), rather than having to fill a whole form of information out. Your example is perfect for this, as each score has a predetermined and fixed meaning / description so the teacher doesn't need to add any extra info or explain the incident.
