LosOjos Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I've finally got around to rooting my S3 after about a year of ownership and I realised that I'm way out of touch with the ROM scene. So, which ROM do you lot use? I've got Paranoid Android on at the moment and I must say, I'm loving the ability to scale apps, Chrome for instance is much better scaled to tablet size, really makes much better use of the S3's massive screen.
Rawns Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 (edited) While I don't have an S3, I am running Cyanogenmod (CyanogenMod | Android Community Rom based on Jelly Bean) on my HTC Desire HD. My phone only runs the mod up to version 7.2 but looks like the S3 has support for the latest build of 10.1. It's a well built, all rounded mod. Worth looking through the site and studying the features. Link to the international S3 (19300): http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/I9300_Info There are 9 S3 versions listed under devices so that link may not be the correct one. Edited May 20, 2013 by Rawns 1

Si2100 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Why not head over to xda-developers.com and get back into the rooting =)
Domino Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 This for me: [ROM][4.2.2][AOKP/CM/PA] GT-I9300 Vanilla RootBox [21/05][v4.0][DEVELOPMENT THREAD] - xda-developers Been running the nightlies for a few months now and always been pretty solid. 1
Poults Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm running the latest CyanogenMod nightly, not overly impressed as the screen on time is under an hour and a half before the battery is dead so i may try what @Domino has suggested as i like the bare bones Android roms.
SmartAudit_Nathan Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) I have installed the Official 4.2.2 Rom with some S4 Features. It's ok and i do like the improvements made to the settings and icons etc. This is some of the new features. New enhancements in Android 4.2.2 update - Android 4.2.2 – Build ID: JDQ39 - New S4 Lockscreen: Multiple Widgets, two Unlock effects (Ripple and Light), improved ripple effect than Android 4.1.2, ability to change clock size and set a personal message - New Screen modes (From S4): Adapt Display and Professional Photo - Daydream - Driving mode - Actionable notifications - New Additions in Notification Center - Completely revamped Settings UI (Tabbed interface – Exactly like the S4) - Addition of Voice controls (Let’s you control various parts of the phone using voice commands – Galaxy S4 feature) - Gallery modes have white background (When changing gallery modes to 3D the background changes to white) - Full screen Samsung apps - New S-Voice (from S4) - New smart switch widget The download link is http://hotfile.com/dl/223736699/03ab0db/I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_ILO.zip.html you will need to flash this with Odin. If you have the Original S3 Rom installed then this upgrades and keeps your data! to root again use http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip and use odin again to flash this root.
