Hello,

I have a problem with applying a custom Start menu to a group of machines. Here's the background....

We have a Win 2000 server applying group policy to our machines. Machines are in various OUs depending on their use/location in the school. Previously, I have created a policy for these OUs and enabled 'Group Policy Loopback Processing' and redirected the Start menu so that, for example, machines in the Music block get a Start menu full of relevant music apps.

I have set this up again, doing the same thing with an OU of 'Staff' machines. However when you log on to the machine, my custom start menu seems to get added to the local machine's default Start menu which is messy and duplicates things. I have set the Loopback Processessing mode to 'Merge' and 'Replace' but neither makes a difference. Has anyone seen this happen before? Any ideas?

Ah thanks! That setting was being set in a separate policy so was left out in the current one. It all works now.

Cheers.
