Trying to find a place to rent

So we're looking to move, finally found a reasonably priced 3 bedroom house but find out no children due to "landlord had complaints from other tenants in the other flats with ‘little people’ running/playing etc"

 

So the search continues, anyone else faced this problem?

I kinda know how you feel - Myself and Wifey have a dog, which excludes us from most places straight away...

 

We're now looking to buy now though - what with prices being low(ish) and all. Then, no-one can tell us what we can and can't have.

 

Not heard children being dis-allowed though - who were the previous tenants?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a house than to rent one? With low interest rates, and low house prices, it really is a buyers market out there.

Yes mortgage would ALOT cheaper than renting, although atm there's just my salary as the misses is caring for kids, so even if she went back to work full time there would be 2 lots of childcare to pay which would be a lot.

 

The house that said no children, specified no children under ten years old. presumably because when they're ten they don't run or play?

 

I fully appreciate it's the Landlords choice, it's just annoying so many places have that caveat.

 

I wonder if there are any rentals that have "no-one over the age of 65"? because they wear out the boiler by having the heating on all the time and complain about noise? < (joke)

As someone who just moved the cost of houses down south are still quite high, then again I am in London which does add a premium. I know what I am paying in rent I could get a mortgage for less a month
