Full time IT schools technician required

We are a small, but rapidly expanding, company serving a growing number of schools in the Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead and surrounding areas. We have built up an excellent reputation with our customers and need to recruit someone with excellent ICT skills who can go into our customer premises to fix problems as they arise and be part of a proactive team supporting all upcoming IT requirements

 

These problems tend to be relatively straightforward, but the successful candidate will need very good problem solving skills. Where do you start with "the internet connection is down", "I've lost all my files", or "I can't print"?

 

Our customers come to us as we are a 'one stop shop' so we not only provide regular ICT support, but also supply hardware and software, build ICT suites, install Cat5e and fibre optic cables and telephone systems, in fact just about anything to do with ICT.

 

We need a reliable and knowledgeable person who can go into our customer premises on a regular basis and resolve ANY issues relating to their ICT equipment as they arise, and also help with our other 'project' work.

 

Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to explain what you are doing to non-technical customers, and help us grow our business are essential.

 

A good knowledge of all versions of Windows is essential together with a good knowledge of Windows Server 2003/8/12 and Exchange. We will provide training where required, but we will expect you to know these products well. We will, of course, provide training on school software. We value qualifications, but hands on experience is far more worthwhile to us.

 

You would be based in Slough but could be expected to travel to other nearby areas. Use of your own car is required, for which a mileage allowance will be payable.

 

An enhanced level Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check will be required before commencement of this position.

 

This position is available now and would be full time. Starting salary is dependent on experience with increases from the initial salary agreed dependent on your performance.
