sted Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Hmpf, you call it a media centre, i call it a games console with added features. Potatoe Patata. Same difference. It's like having a old school mercedes, and saying you can't have Sat Nav in it, else it'll become something different than a simple car (kind of... you know what i mean, don't you? You do... ) I'll agree, that the XBLA is a PAIN to search through, and i'm not prepared to try and check up to see which is available on the Xbox but isn't available on the PC. It'll take a good few hours. However, some of the games i've mentioned on here are Xbox limited. There is hardly a noticeable different in the Gpus! So nvidia rumors show anyway. People buy the xbox for the online experience. Hardcore PS fans have converted to xbox for THIS reason. You ask thousands, tens of thousands infact, and the only thing stopping them coming over is the £40 a year online contract, which is less than a 50p a day!!!! Not playing online is like driving a car without wheels. You're like a flintstone. (Eve was one of the greatest games ever.) However, with your commitments, it's a fair call Nothing personal, just boggling. I'm sure a lot of people on here will buy the new xbox, be it 6 months later, or a year later. I'll dig up this thread when you do depends on the game final fantasy 13 for instance has no need of online play. PGR/forza do benefit from it but i do spend more time these days offline (though i dont have a gold account bt cant provide a decent enough service) i do miss some things about online but too often you just get stuffed in a room full of @:*&s who trash talk swear then quit when you leave them in your dust as to buying probably depends on launch titles and backward compatability i dont want 4 consoles (5 if you include the dreamcast) cluttering up the front room though i could lose the wii cant remember the last time i turned it on Edited April 30, 2013 by sted
X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 i do miss some things about online but too often you just get stuffed in a room full of @:*&s who trash talk swear then quit when you leave them in your dust Play Assassin's Creed. You don't really get that with the online part. Though people do have annoying tactics. And by tactics, I mean running all over the [censored] map like an idiot.

Pgr / forza / f1 has to be the funniest to play. Do a 360 on the lineup, and drive into others as they come racing down the track. My goodness, the verbal abuse on the mic is slaughterablinglaughing. Play Assassin's Creed. You don't really get that with the online part. Though people do have annoying tactics. And by tactics, I mean running all over the [censored] map like an idiot. Creeeeeed! I seeeee youuuu... *running footsteps* *Jumps off roof* Bye bye *Runs away laughing*

Honestly.
X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Hmpf, you call it a media centre, i call it a games console with added features. Nope. It's all about the focus. Microsoft [and Sony] are pusing "social" more and more. It's less about playing good games, and more about socialising while doing it. Microsoft are also pushing Xbox as a media centre. Most of the ads I've seen on the dashboard are for Netflix, Love Film or on-demand movies. The only non-film ones I've seen are for CoD. i cant be doing with online fps anyway i just get wasted all the time i dont want to think about tactics i just want to run round and kill stuff/blow stuff up the idea of creeping round/sniping or much actual thought takes away the fun imo 3rd person, stealth. It's supposed to be slower than things like CoD, which is why people get annoyed with runners.[Citation needed]
sted Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 You would LOVE borderlands / saints row. Honestly. isnt saints row a gta ripoff?
X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 isnt saints row a gta ripoff? It was originally, but the went their own way. GTA is serious business. Saint's Row is silliness.
Mako Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 You would LOVE borderlands / saints row. Honestly. Saints Row IV this year! http://cache.ohinternet.com/images/a/a1/Awww_yeah.jpg I'll go now...
localzuk Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 isnt saints row a gta ripoff? In as much as its a sandbox game where you're running around shooting things and completing missions. But they went for outlandish silliness...
X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Saints Row IV this year! With something that was supposed to be DLC for SR3 added into the game! Got screwed over buying the season pass? Don't worry, you can get screwed over AGAIN!

If that was the case, their need to push out their performance would be negligible. Which dashboard do you see? I only ever see games on mine? I'm on there daily too, so..... confused! Haters be hating runners! Just can't scroll and hit us fast enough lol. Ran round this guy in circles once, after failing a roof kill, they must have been new, i was laughing so much until i killed him. Even then, oh the stomach pains. isnt saints row a gta ripoff? Haters be hating. lol It was originally, but the went their own way. GTA is serious business. Saint's Row is silliness. GTA is serious? In what way?! You do exactly the same as Saints Row, only... it's less fun. Saints row is just a laughing hour.. or two... or three. CAM Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 With something that was supposed to be DLC for SR3 added into the game! Got screwed over buying the season pass? Don't worry, you can get screwed over AGAIN! Never buy season passes. I learned that with BF3.
LosOjos Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 i'm not prepared to try and check up to see which is available on the Xbox but isn't available on the PC. It'll take a good few hours. Category:Xbox 360-only games - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There are a total of 242 (although being Wikipedia it may not be entirely accurate. Of those 242 the vast majority are just reworks of old classics, slightly tweaked versions of games available on other consoles or games I've never even heard of. I like Forza, but being tied in to a console for the sake of one franchise? Not gonna happen!
sted Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Never buy season passes. I learned that with BF3. its worked out ok for me on forza in the past but tbh im getting sick of paid for dlc the last i remember of saints row was v1 not played any since that i remember not hating so much as not caring but ive set my 360 to download the demo of 3 (granted as its turned off wont help till i get home but its done) as to exclusives depends how much you want them i really enjoyed metropolis street racer on the dreamcast so when progect gotham went to the xbox that pretty much pushed me that way. Though ive had various playstations for gtx and decided each time that the game wasnt worth it only reason i have a ps3 is a "future proof" blueray player bought the odd game as well but its mainly a blueray player
X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Never buy season passes. I learned that with BF3.I learned it with AC3.I bought it, along with a year of XBL and only used it for a few months. It runs out at the end of July and I'm paying again.
CAM Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 TBH I cancelled XBL outright. Ironically when I had to install GfWL for a game on PC, it started bugging me about my Gold subscription being lapsed. And yeah, agree with tiring of DLC. I took interest in Neverwinter Online for example, but not even released and they are selling $200 "starter packs." If I paid $200 I'd never expect to pay for anything again in a game, instead I caught some screenshots of the market. 4000ZEN for a mount, it's £10 for 1000ZEN. Do the math. :| And the trend for paying for non-content like lockboxes, inventory space and server transfers (even in Tapped Out the Mystery Boxes and Buddahs are useless). Oh great now I'm starting again on this topic...

MS has the worst list of exclusives from all the consoles. It's £40 a year, but that's the value of another game or 4. When I've paid for the internet connection, the console/pc and the game the last thing I want to pay for is another subscription service to use the things I've already paid for. Personally I think its a terrible model for consumers.

If it's a terrible model for consumers, why are they the largest seller of consoles?

(edit: beaten to it) Its widely reported the PS3 also overtook 360 by the end of 2012 outdated reports have them within 1.5% of each other. Edited April 30, 2013 by Theblacksheep

X-13 Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Hahaha! Game Boy and Game Boy colour still outsold the XBox! TBF, they've got a good headstart. And it's 2 consoles combined. [GBC games != GB games.]
