the entire Mercadian Masques set was likte that! Rebel creatureas that allowed you to tap for mana and search your deck of another rebel card and put it STRAIGHT INTO PLAY! Madness! But oh so much fun

yeah but Ring of Ma'Ruf wasn't search your deck.. it was search your "collection".. choose the perfect card out of your 10,000 cards and bring it into the game :p

That is still going?! I suppose you could pull the retro card. Or "this is for my daughter really" card... ;)

 

haha yeah apparently it is! I did get my daughter in to the Pokémon games actually, she's playing through Red/Blue at the moment :) but she's not interested in the cards - at least not to play with!

I actually have close to 10,000 cards too! That would take agest to search thru!

I played between 3rd and 5th Edition...

 

Then I realised how much space my M:tG, my Mythos, my Alien vs Predator, my Star Trek CCG, my Netrunner and my Shadowrun CCG cards were taking up!

MYTHOSSSSS!!! I bloody Love H P Lovecraft... The most twisted game imaginable! I've only ever found people to play it in Chesterfield! I still have these as well I think :)

 

Just out of curiosity, what's everyone age range in here?

 

I'm gonna start off with most of you being 72 - 80. :D

Well me and the missus sorted out our first decks over the weekend and started playing. I fell straight in to the trap of putting all the most powerful cards in my deck, only to get my rear end repeatedly kicked by the missus who had made a much better job of her deck thanks to my distinct short fall of mana! Anyway, I remade my deck and it's all feeling quite well balanced now, quite pleased with it.

 

What I will say is this is damn addictive! I find myself constantly replaying matches in my head trying to think what I could have done differently or which cards could have really helped!

 

I'm going to have to set myself a strict budget on this one as I can feel the temptation to throw my money at it growing already :p

Where exactly is /dev/null? Is that near /mnt/sdd?

I'll post it up later, don't have them to hand right now but it's a green/white deck with most of my lower mana creatures coming from white, a few power creatures and spells in green and I stuck to 60 cards, 24 land, 24 creatures, remainder other spells for the time being while I find my feet.

I can certainly see the temptation to make some cash (I collected Pokémon cards as a teenager but never had any of the really rare ones cuz I'd sell them as soon as I got them!) but damn, this game is fun! I'm a little nervous about going to an FNM event in case I get told I need to buy a load of new cards or that I have illegals in my deck, feel like that would somewhat spoil my fun... at least for now! Would love to have some casual games with folk though

It's incredibly tempting actually. I must have 150 odd rares in a folder, plus at least as many again in decks. Not to mention thousands of commons and hundreds of uncommons. Gotta be worth more than a couple of hundres quid. Anybody want to tempt me? :p

Haha yeah if I spent even close to that amount in one go on these cards, I think my missus would throw me out on my ear! On a serious note, have you tried somewhere like Magic The Gathering UK - Buy MTG Cards, Boosters & Accessories and read mtgUK Strategy Articles to see what kind of price they'd offer you? There are a few places I've come across that will buy collections, only mention that one cuz they're the only one I've ordered from so far
