I thought I had all things locked down then found a couple of PC's with icons set to a large size. Couldnt figure out how they had done it until I found out they just scrolled the wheel on the mouse by accident and it zoomed the desktop icon size (think I needed to hold ctrl down as well). Is it possible to lock this down some how (not disabling the wheel on the mouse though) or can I set the size at logon if I cant stop them using GPO (using server 2008 R2) Edited by TechSupp

Hiya,

The reg key you need is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\1\Desktop. Change the IconSize to the value of 32, 48, 64 etc. Not sure about which numbers means which size but it should work. You need to logoff and re-login again to see the changes.

Ash.
