Hi All,

Today I decided to check the range of my DX6i by flying FPV low level in a straight line until I lost signal. I checked my fail safe to make sure it would give 0% throttle. The video signal stayed rock solid the hole time until the bitter end. I flew into the wind incase I had to make a hasty retreat with the wind behind me.

That was brave! :)

My build is coming along slowly - had an unexpected car repair just before my holiday so it's knocked me back a bit. However, progress is here.....

I've been playing about with different materials to house the flight controller on, but taken a leaf from your book and using a tupperware box which has given me more room to work with as well as being the perfect platform to house the GPS. I'm just waiting for the radio gear now which I'm going to order soon to push things along.

Been hooking it up to my netbook and enjoyed seeing the Head Down Display showing it's pitch, roll, etc when you wave it about. Assuming my soldering has work should be good!!!

That looks like a great build Pete! almost there. I like your Tupperware pot, be careful in the wind as those square sides will cause a lot of resistance. I removed those hook feet on like my second flight because they are a nightmare, they stick in the ground or snag grass on take off, also they are very week in a hard crash. While I was learning I used the form that came around a dell server to create large padded feet which gave me a nice soft landing but did get effected by wind.

I can't wait to see you flying this beast!
