Does anyone know if it's possible to link a Moodle install hosted on an external host talk to an LDAP server with in our network?

We wanting to use Moodle but don't want to open the hole in our firewall.

Perhaps a way to sync users from the AD into Moodle would be best, shouldn't need to open any holes in our firewall.

We have no control over the firewall and have to request alterations (from the RBC). There very strict on what can and cannot be allowed through. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow LDAP.

If you are unable to have port 636 opened to a defined IP address, you could look at using something like ssoeasy which would create a indirect link to ldap over port 443.
