So over Easter I'm moving servers and moving the install location for all my Group Policy installs.

So is the best plan:

remove the deployment in GP removing the software and re-install

or

Remove the deploymment in GP and do not uninstall but prevent new installs and re-install?

This time round I've been sensible and the deoplyment point is a DFS share so I can move the files in teh future but keep the DFS root that GP sees the same.

Suggestions?

i was under the impression running a deployment share from dfs wasnt ideal as it can take too long to "find" the share at bootup so sometimes it wont do the deployment?

usinf FQDN rather than netbois name seems to help with that. I know a few people who use it and they say it's fine.

I imagine plenty of referal servers helps
