Plug in the HDD?

Change the boot order? Take out the CD?

Bit difficult to read the pic, but I think it says "OS not found"

It looks like it is configured to boot from the network (PXE), and possibly only from the network.

As Andrew suggests, change the boot order to be the hard drive only and try again.

What exactly is the laptop supposed to do? If it contains important data then you may need to connect the hard drive to another (working) PC and save the data. If not, then you will need to reinstall a/the operating system (from a CD).

looks like you are trying to pxe boot, but the windows deployment service has failed. Have you tried restarting the service?, if that is what you are trying to do

Network boot but looks like network cable uplugged.

(check cable connection message)

is it supposed to boot to the network or should it boot to the hard drive?

Can you boot it on a live CD? I usually use a Ubuntu disc to get to files on a non-booting drive, but make sure you dont install it!
