Oops_my_bad Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 On the travelmates (4150's anyway) it's simply a case of pulling off the top part of the strip (under the TFT but on top of the keyboard). Once you have that off the screws for the keyboard are accessible If you like I can send you the travelmate 4150/4160 service pdf in case it's of any use.

TechSupp Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I found the travelmates quite easy to dissasemble. Had to make one good one out of two the other week, that involved stripping it down to case and motherboard level. Passed a morning by enjoyably anyway
Quackers Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Have to agree the Travelmates are so easy to change keyboards on, we have many different model travelmates from the last 7 years, its just undo the screws that hold the panel below the tft (the section where the power button and other quick launch buttons are), flip that panel up and keyboard just lifts up

If it is then there are a bunch of Dells that use the same one, but to be honest in this case I would just get a compatible or one that just covers a range of models. Prob the third of the price and just as unreliable as the original lol. No really, mix n match the psu, shouldnt be a problem. It is only when buying batteries that ya need to tread careful. ALWAYS go for the best.
