ironmaidenrule Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum, what software do people using "remote desktop'ing" across multiple servers, been using Remote Desktops add-in for years but looking for something with better functionality like the newer Remote Desktop Connection, ideally I want the software the natively use rdp and not need anything extra installing on the servers and also have a nice list like Remote Desktops has.
localzuk Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I use Skeep to connect to our servers (although it can be a little glitchy). But I've also used Bozteck's VNCScan Enterprise which is very good too. 1
Ghostgame Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Recommend Centrastage. You have to install a small agent on every machine you want to remote into though so you may not be what your looking for but it has great functionality. Allows you to create packages which you can deploy to the machines that you have an agent on. Other than that Bomgar. Installs a agent when you remote on the machine and then removes it when your finished. Good functionality as well. 1
EduTech Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I just use Remote Desktop Connection Manager - Download: RDCMan - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details 1

If you are looking for Windows software that can be used stand alone but also supports RDP protocol/functionality, you may check Remote Utilities. It also allows RDP over the Internet (i.e. using RDP through the tunnel created by the software). Hope that helps. 1
ironmaidenrule Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks for all the replies, having a good look at Remote Desktop Connections Manager, really like the grouping aspect of it.
EduTech Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks for all the replies, having a good look at Remote Desktop Connections Manager, really like the grouping aspect of it. It's simple & it works! :-) I use it for multiple organizations and it's just a simple way to keep everyone's server names at hand. The passwords should you store them are encrypted and so if you were to copy the file, you would have to re-enter the parent password for the 'Group'. :-) James.
cpjitservices Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I use Bozteck for rolling out VNC to desktops / servers. I use Remote Desktop on Windows servers and VNC on Linux servers, To access RDP or VNC I use Remmina as my admin machine is Fedora.
