Theblacksheep Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 @FireyRed Yikes - I updated to 2.00 the day after it was released Presume if it won't wake up, gotta disconnect power lead and re connect and power on again ( as per the article and any PC type device ) if you disconnect the power lead whilst it is on then doesn't do the HDD any good ? The HD is generally OK its the file system that doesn't like it. The PS4 will then generally power on, boot into recovery mode, repair it's file system database, reboot back into OS. PS4 OS 2.01 was released yesterday to fix the 'rest' mode bug. It's an optional update, not mandatory.
korifugi Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Didn't see any issues myself - but as the 2.01 update is there, I'll move to that. No AAA games on PSN this month either, but they've used the PSN blog to apologise for the delay on Driveclub (which, apparently we are still getting) and state that we'll be getting Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition in December and Infamous: First Light in January. Finally - something decent! They've not said anything about PS3/Vita yet.
featured_spectre Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Injustice is a great game, and if you get the mobile version you get extra content just by playing and completing some of the challenges on the mobile version, and vice versa

Finally - something decent! I think PS+ on PS4 has been pretty good this past year. Personally, given the age of the hardware and the price I pay for PS+ each year, I'd be happy if we only got two "indie" games per month for another year. Still, perhaps they need to do something in the face of the ongoing DriveClube debacle.
korifugi Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I've ummmed and ahhhed about Injustice for quite a while thinking 'Do I get it?'. Not a problem now. Also Infamous: First Light - haven't got around to getting it yet, but I've wanted it since it was announced. Guess I'll wait until next year now. Time to go and glare at Evil Within, Natural Doctrine and Shadow of Mordor then...

True - I loved Mercenary Kings and Dead Nation, plus I liked them putting out Crysis3 on the 3 a while back, and let's face it £40 a year for 24 indie games? 'tis actually quite a good deal (even more if like me you have a 4, 3 and Vita.)
DMcGuigan Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I just finished Last Light, picked it up last month Good little stand alone, lasted me about 5 hours for main story and 100% collectibles in the city, just got to do score attacks in the Arenas now to get the plat.
Theblacksheep Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 OS 2.02 out today and mandatory. More stability (please let the messaging be fixed). Not long till Dragons Age and GTAV
LosOjos Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Episode 1 of Game of Thrones; "Iron From Ice"; is out tomorrow - anyone else looking forward to it? Telltale seem to get a lot of flack from the gaming community for their engine, but I think it's great; a welcome return to/refresh of the story driven adventure game
X-13 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Telltale seem to get a lot of flack from the gaming community for their engine So much flack that I've literally seen none of it.
Bradlys Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 So much flack that I've literally seen none of it. I didn't want to sound rude but this is kinda what I was thinking. I'm not quite sure where this flack is?

I'm not quite sure where this flack is? I just keep seeing people moaning in the comments sections of reviews, stuff along the lines of "Oh, another Telltale game. Yawn." and even in reviews themselves, comments like "of course it's still a Telltale game with all the problems that brings" (think that was on IGN or Kotaku this morning, blocked here) Suppose the comments on reviews aren't the best thing to judge general opinion on, it was just the range of sites I saw similar comments gave me the impression it was the general consensus...
X-13 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Suppose the comments on reviews aren't the best thing to judge general opinion on, it was just the range of sites I saw similar comments gave me the impression it was the general consensus... nah, it's probably the same few people. also... Kotaku? lol
LosOjos Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 nah, it's probably the same few people. also... Kotaku? lol What's wrong with Kotaku? I don't have the time in my life any more [unfortunately] to keep up to date with gaming, so excuse my ignorance if there's something I'm missing...
X-13 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 What's wrong with Kotaku? I don't have the time in my life any more [unfortunately] to keep up to date with gaming, so excuse my ignorance if there's something I'm missing... Kotaku have been bad for ages. But currently they're allowing their journalists to cover their housemates and partners with zero disclosure. [Which their EIC doesn't see a problem with.] IIRC They're also being investigated by the FTC. They [Gawker media in general] are also blanket insulting gamers for asking for some ethical guidelines to be posted, with the same old "you just hate women" and comparing them to Nazis and ISIS.
Arthur Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 PS4 Slim images leaked. http://wccftech.com/ps4-slim-screenshots-leaked-e3
LosOjos Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 PS4 Slim images leaked. It's very likely a hoax; I can't access it at work, but someone on reddit calculated the dimensions from the side-by-side pic and proved that the bluray drive slot was considerably smaller than a bluray disc.

I thought as much. It's too soon for a slim PS4? Edited January 26, 2015 by Arthur
tmcd35 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 PS4 Slim is an interesting concept given the current size of the PS4. It's about the same size as the PS3 Slim. Sure the PS3 Super Slim is smaller, but that has a top load BluRay driver, yuck!
