Asset management - spiceworks with barcode scanner and labels?

Hi we are starting to use the asset management in spiceworks but need to label assets. Can anyone recommend a decent way of printing labels, good labels that can't be removed easily and a whether you have a special printer.

 

A school near us has something like a barcode gun that prints off labels.

 

Need something that is fairly cheap but not easy to remove the labels.

Barcode label printer from Zebra is good. Or you can post your question at this printer-only issue forum at Printer Forums - Printing Help and Support

There's loads of asset/security tag suppliers that can help there also, google is your friend, personally we don print our own, just order boxes of 500 with the next Iteration of tags going up fro the last number

We've just invested in a system from Parago.co.uk, it's a hosted asset management solution and supports barcode and QR codes.

 

We have an app on our iPhones and Andriod phones to manage the system, it's exceptionally good, but it does come at a price... Worth looking into though if your serious about asset management and auditing not just within your IT estate but as an asset/insurance claim system across your entire school.
