Google have been evil for a while now, they are a company after all.

Not just any company either, an advertising company, the worse kind imo.

I don't use any google services, except YouTube (where else am I going to get my fix of a cat trying to mend a printer!) and google drive, but only as I have to for work, otherwise I wouldn't use that either.

I would rather pay a little money and keep my info as private as possible, than give it away free to some advertising giant.

I did spend a month without Google and found that it is possible (apart when people thrust some things in your face that you have no control over such as using Google maps on their webpage). In the end I worked out what I could easily do without and what was too much effort to try to avoid. You can do similar for most firms out there.

Agreed, I don't really use Googles stuff apart from when someone shares it like youtube videos - I guess I have posted a couple of those - I probably use googles stuff once or twice a month actively. Well till I brought the Nexus but even that is just used as a browser, a bad one, and to run the EduGeek App as there is still not one for Windows Phone.
