timbo343 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Nick Would the exchange feature in hap talk to office365? Im getting requests to have like a tile system for students to show new emails. I guess SSO would need to be confugured on office365? Thanks
bclarke Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Would love to see an iOS app for this one day. Also, we have a strange timetable every Wednesday where we shoehorn an extra lesson in. Can the booking system cope with a 5 period day and then one 6 period day? Also, off topic but Nick, could you point me in the right direction for instructions on how to update to a new version? Thanks
nickbro Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 iOS isn't planned, as I'd have to get a developer account with itunes which isn't cheap. The booking system currently doesn't support that model, you would have to configure it to have 6 periods for all days, and set up a static booking for the 6th lesson every other day which was blocked out. Latest release is on codeplex, download the "update" package: Home Access Plus+ - Download: v8.7
xenonive Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Looking forward to trying out v9 , looks like some great features being added.
CRizzio Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I am looking to use HAP+ as a file-access portal for our "mobile users" when they are on the road. We have 6 different offices and each office has a file server local to them. We need a way of establishing different "MyFiles" mappings dependant upon the office a user works out of. We do have different OU's containing users from the office represented by the OU. Is there currently a way or would you consider building in the ability to establish the "MyFiles" mappings based on the OU? I know we can map the users "Home Directory" using the "homedir" environment variable but we have 4 other mappings that we need to establish. Also, do you have any documentation or references to setting up Remote Desktop Apps (RDWEB) in HAP+? Thanks for your consideration. Chuck R. P.S. I love what you have done so far!! HAP looks very clean and professional. I especially love the "live tiles".

What you would do in this case, is create an AD group for each office and put the user into that group, you can then use that group in HAP+ to map against.
nickbro Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Little sneak peak for you guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVvqkXx_1PU&feature=youtu.be 1
Marshall_IT Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Little sneak peak for you guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVvqkXx_1PU&feature=youtu.be This looks absolutely fantastic! It will make using the booking sheet do much easier for staff, and wall no people don't like this that take note than 2 or 3 clicks. You really do do such an amazing job. Keep up the great work!

xenonive Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) Birthday treat for you guys, and twitter followers: Happy birthday for yesterday. Thanks for the birthday treat Maybe a feature could be dropbox integration(not sure how easy to do https://www.dropbox.com/developers/chooser) for students as we are looking at using it for media files to save backing audio and movies on internal servers. nickbro Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Hi @xenonive, just tried to put a dropbox send to client in, and it didn't want to work. I'll see if Paul can do any better
xenonive Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Thanks for looking at it . Wish could be more help but coding is not really my thing but would like to learn.
nickbro Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Did a bit of work last night on making the booking system stretch to fit the whole screen, this is the result: The text is a bit small, still haven't figured that one out.
nickbro Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 v9 will also have a Windows 8 Store App available to purchase (£0.99), with a Windows Phone 8 App to follow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCtzjIf7ikA 1
Marshall_IT Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 How easy /difficult would it be to make an android app? I know the iTunes Dev costs are quite high. I just would like to make a donation for your hard work by buying an android app :-)
nickbro Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 Dunno, I have no idea what the IDE is link for Android, and without a phone it's not much use. The source code for the Windows 8 app will be available, and if a programmer out there wants to take it on board and make an iOS or Android app then lets chat. MS make it easy to code in XAML/JS/C#. v9 will have some big changes to the UI on smart phones, making it a lot easier to use.
Danp Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Birthday treat for you guys, and twitter followers: Very nice work Nick 1
nickbro Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) For you Win 8 Store App followers: It will require a v9 install. There will be a 7 day trial of the app before you have to shell out 99p for it. More features will be added to future versions, unless I get really bored later today/tomorrow. Programming this app on my Core i7 beast at home and then a Intel Centrino Duo Toshiba laptop from 4 years ago, it's a big difference, mind the laptop has inbuild HSDPA (if we got that round here) Edited April 9, 2013 by nickbro
mattianuk Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 No way to get the app to work on Win Phone 7.5? I think i read its completely different in terms of writing apps
nickbro Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 I'll see about WP7.5, it depends how VS2012 IDE works with Windows Phone, whether is just a checkbox that sets the OS version, or not. It is just a checkbox then WP7.8 will be supported
nickbro Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 See if anyone finds this: Home Access Plus+ - Source Code, 1

nickbro Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 WP8 is a bit quicker with the updates, also nokia are quicker again.
nickbro Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 edugeek exclusive: Keep an eye on http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/app/home-access-plus-my-files/83c7c64d-6f8d-4532-8c39-76b4fb83e9d3, something magical should make it's appearance there today 1
