Hi All,

I've heard that there is a way of running Emerge on Mac which I'd really like to try out as an alternative to VM's to run SIMS. I spoke to Groupcall and they tell me that the only way that they have seen it done is using the iOS Simulator app which you can get by installing xCode. Has anyone out there successfully managed to do this, and if so, how have you found it?

We use Emerge for our PE staff to take registers on iPods, haven't heard of a desktop version. As Rozzer said running an RDP session is a great way of accessing sims on a mac. It's the method i use day to day.

I'm not at all surprised by the response you got from Groupcall; their incompetence is astonishing.

Sadly what you want to do isn't possible due to processor architecture. To run Emerge on the iOS Simulator you would need the source code from Groupcall.

Unfortunately you can't just download an app and pop it into the simulator.

It wouldn't be a good way to do it anyway. iOS simulator is purely for testing your own work prior to releasing it (and compiling it for ARM processors) to the world. It wouldn't save settings, and isn't just a click and go affair.

From the point of view of your users, and you as the person charged with supporting it; I'd recommend RDP.
