snagrat Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 I am trying to install ActivInspire (latest version) but get the following error on all machines: CA - Function Failed GetCommonDocsFolder I have tried the standard EXE, tried creating a network installer, but it still fails. It must be somethnig on these machines as works elsewhere. Is there a way to bypass whatever check is happening and complete the install
J4G0 Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Have you checked the Group Policies (if any)? These can cause similar issues. Does the error occur on the same machines when applying an "out of the box" Windows OS image?
LeMarchand Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Do you mean MSI when you say "Network Installer"? That's what we use with no reported problems and I'm pretty sure that most of the staff favour Activ.
snagrat Posted September 5, 2022 Author Posted September 5, 2022 The devices are managed by Intune rather than GPO. The issue is something set in Intune but it’s a setup I’ve inherited and I cannot find what is causing this. It’ll soon be rebuilt from scratch but could ideally get AI installed sooner.
JasonY Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 We are having this issue as well. We don't use network drives for any folders. Perhaps it's looking for a default home common folder of some kind?
JasonY Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Looks like Windows Defender was blocking the folder AI needed to install to. Have to allow it locally.
