MS Office 365 on Mac Read only files

Hello all

I have had reports from staff that office 365 (Word) on Mac, when opening a file off our a network drive, has this error message. Usually clicking duplicate does nothing. I am thinking it's either word or the Synology NAS. But, as I tested it on another Server, shared over SMB and the issue persists, I am thinking is MS Word. My Mac running Ventura does not seem to be affected. But, that said, I do keep my computer up-to-date, while other don't. Copying the file off the network drive and opening on the local computer seem fine with no error message. Anyone have any ideas?

Seen similar. Some combinations of older (Office/MacOS) versions work fine, some don’t. ‘Ltsb’ versions of office are most prone to this, but they don’t hold the monopoly. When everything is current we have the fewest problems.
