ravenadsl Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Hello, I am looking for a basic bit of software that will ping my switches and tell me if they are up and how log they are taking to respond. it would be nice to see a history to. o yes also free if possible The only things i can find are expansive and have a tone of tools I wont use, can any one suggest anything Thanks!
sdc Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Best one I've found is the Dude - free, and extremely customisable. I have it set up with a status screen on our office wall, a map of the site with coloured areas on the Intranet homepage, and a traffic-light system on the website (so I can check from home!). Also I get emails and pager messages from it when equipment statuses change. I am happy to send you example screenshots if that would be useful, along with info as to how I've configured it. I've also added Spotlight on Windows (also free) with this for added server monitoring info. Hope this helps!
