Krisp.ai - noise cancelling software

I saw a thing on BBC News 24 where the journalist was reviewing the fancy new noise cancellation technology built into new Nvidia graphics cards and where he was comparing it to a purely software driven solution. Both worked pretty well.

 

The software solution is called Krisp. At the moment, they're offering it to all education, health and government workers worldwide for free, with unlimited usage for the next six months.

The RTX stuff is pretty epic - I've had it on here since it came out & it completely blanks out everything. It can even block out incoming noise too, I had a meeting where someone was outside and the head was complaining about the noise - I didn't realise what he was on about until I turned the RTX stuff off, hah

I've found the noise cancelling stuff built into team to be astonishingly good too. (I don't have an RTX to compare it to though).

 

Some teachers want to record lessons and then run seminar/tutorial sessions, so I had a play with OBS using the same hardware - audio was trash even with the built-in noise cancelling. I wonder how MS (and probably

Zoom et-al) do it with out the RTX stuff?

I tried Krisp out. It is pretty amazing. But, when I had it turned on in a Teams call, other users complained that they got weird echo and noises on the call so I ended up turning it off.
