timbo343 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Has anyone else seen or used this stuff. It looks bloody ace and comes in the form of blutack/playdoh Here are some guides on what you can do with the stuff.. Make a guide - the future needs fixing - sugru Edited June 30, 2014 by timbo343
plexer Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Never used it but it is cool and noticed our local Wilkinsons store stocks it. Ben
witch Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I really want some now. That sort of thing fascinates me - I want to make hooks for EVERYTHING
timbo343 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Lol, or magnets to stick things together or make a rugged camera, etc, etc, etc
webman Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Yep, love the stuff! I've used it to improve light switches; and fix: a car keyfob, lid on a mini kitchen bin and, combined with Lego, the access panel on a boiler. I'm soon hoping to use it to repair a crack in a camera lens casing. It's awesome Edited June 30, 2014 by webman
Garacesh Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 My immediate thought was "This stuff, plus magnets, Warhammer armies with interchangeable gear.."
elsiegee40 Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Just ordered a pack. This may be the solution to the ipad wire problem we have! It's worth a try!
pcstru Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Sugru is good stuff and it's a nice story of product design and development. You can also make your own substitute by mixing Silicone Sealant with cornflour and if you want different colour, some acrylic artists paint.
timbo343 Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 @elsiegee40 you will have to report back and let us know how you got on with it. Ive got scuff marks down to the steel on the tops of my work steel toe cap shoes so thinking black sugru might be a cheap alternative to repairing them instead of buying new.
timbo343 Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Sugru appeared on ITV's This Morning... Now that's a super soaker! | Home & Garden | This Morning
timbo343 Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Ive just got my pack of sugru today but now i'm reluctant to use it. @elsiegee40 have you done anything with it yet?
elsiegee40 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I have got it on iPhone/iPad leads. Son repaired his xbox controller with it too. Seems to work well
