[windows software] KMS Server activate both win 7 and office?

Hi Guys,

 

hopefully someone can answer this one...

 

I've already got a Working windows 7 KMS host.

I'd like to add the Office 2010 Activation to the same KMS host so that the one server activates Office and Windows 7 - Is this possible?

 

It's just that the slmgr /ipk replaces any existing key

 

am I going about this the wrong way?

Do not quote me on this but I think it is possible. I would think if you set up a new KMS activation server for it, it will run smoothly? Someone can feel free to correct me as I use a Volume Key for my Office and Windows products rather than KMS.

I've just downloaded the Microsoft Office 2010 KMS License pack and installed on the same server

Seems to be working fine...

 

I've also downloaded Microsoft Volume Activation Management Tool which is quite good, as It's now shown me that the server is a Licensed 2010 KMS host.

 

within 2 minutes of installing the Office licenses, i've got about 5 machines that have activated already!

Just to say that they are great tools the KMS stuff, my Office 2010, Server 2008 and Win 7 stuff are all activating via it and its bliss No more PIDs to remember or loose or have swipped from the office its all automated and bliss

Adam, I have had some problems setting our one up, would you be able to PM with what you did?

Here's a breif outline of what I did..

 

On a server running 2008 R2, go to the server properties page (Start > Computer >right click, >properties)

 

Change the server License Key to the Server 2008 R2 Std/Ent KMS B that is on the Microsoft licensing site

 

Open a command prompt

 

Type SLMGR /ATO to activate windows (activating the Key you just entered - this automatically enables KMS host.)

Then..

Check DNS to make sure that in Domain _TCP there is a new entry called _SVLCS or similar (at home so can't check) that points to the server you just activated.

 

In Command Prompt

SLMGR /DLV to show activations etc. The first 5 or 25 (cant remember) will show as “Failed to activate” until the threshold of 5 or 25 ? has been met

 

 

For Office – download the Microsoft Office 2010 KMS License Pack – not beta – and run on server

 

 

Then download Microsoft Volume Activation Management Tool to check the status of the licenses on all machines on the network (have to be switched on)
